ORC AND GOLBIN BOOK

 The new Orc and Goblin book, if it is indeed being done, will be
out June or July according to one source. Seems a little early especially
considering that they may want to wait for Warhammer 2000, but then you
never know with GW.
| EPIC WARHAMMER

Warhammer epic will be released early 2000.
It will cover only six races initially. Brettonians, empire, orcs
and goblins, undead, woodelves, dwarves. all will include special
characters and magic/items.
There will be campaign packs released that cover the remaining
races i.e. race rules, painting and modelling and a campaign based around
the new race.
Siege rules will be covered as will extended campaigns and basic
naval rules for storming a beach.
There will also be new war machines for nearly every race.

One source tells me that the Vampire book release is slated in
for the 29th of May.

The new Vampire book will apparently also include Thralls
(peasants bitten by Vampires), Hellbats and Direwolves. My source also
mentioned an troop with the intriguing name of Spectral Hosts but had no
further details.
What I did call Sisters of Blood in a previous rumour are
apparently now known as Lamia.
| MORDHEIM BOXED MINIS

Mordheim will apparently come with Skaven and Empire miniatures
in the box. Included on the sprues will be throwing stars, bandages, eye
patches and so on.

Vampire Army Book will be out in summer '99.
The 4 bloodlines are actually Carstein, Lahmia, Dragon Templars
and Necrolans.
The list will have 3 levels of Vampires (Lord, Count, Baron)
which have to be from the same bloodline for one army.
General can be Lord a (300p, 3 Magic Items, Magic Level 3, 2 spells) or
Count (185p, 2 MI, Lev 2, 1 spell).
There are 4 levels of Necromancers.
Army Banner Bearer can be Vampire or Wight.
Champions can be Wraithes, Wights or Skeleton Champs.
Characters can ride Nightmare steed which has the same abilities
as Skeleton Steeds or winged Nightmares or Manticore.
New character: Banshee (100 p), 1 per 1000 points army. Cries in
shooting phase, any unitl in 8" takes 2 D6 +2 - Ld wounds.
They can also take foot Skelletons, Tomb Guardians, Zombies,
Ghouls, 0-1 units of Wraithes, werewolves (they may have a Warg leader),
vampire bats, mounted wights (only 1W, 26p). A swarm of bats will cost
50p.
No more skelleton horsemen, Carrions, Chariots, scull chuckers,
Ghosts, Liches.
The Black Coach will cost 200 points.
Necromantic magic spells are chosen freely and re-cast as usual.
Magic user can now raise only skelletons and zombies. Vanhel's affects
only skellies, tomb guardians, zombies and mounted wights.
Interestingly my source told me that there is no longer the rule
where they crumble if the General is killed!
Another source wrote telling me that the Blood Dragons are able to cast
spells while wearing armour. The Necriarchs (he spelt it differently -
we'll have to wait and see how it is really spelt I guess) are great
sorcerers and have a higher magic level at a lower cost. The Sisters of
Blood (I'm guessing these are Lahmia) are female vampires which are much a
kin to succubus. Although weaker, the Sisterhood are extremely fast and
apparently can move through walls like skeleton horsemen.

Warhammer Epic is apparently finished rules wise and has been for
4 months. However GW still needs to do the miniatures and artwork which is
why we may not see it for a while yet.
| NEW WARHAMMER EDITION

Although it has been previously rumoured I've since had
confirmation froma good source that Warhammer is indeed getting a new
version, with a new and radically changed rules system along the lines of
the changes made with the new 40K.
| NEW VAMPIRE ARMY BOOK

The new Vampire book will probably be released this November.
As previously rumoured it will have 4 blood lines - Von
Carsteins, Blood Dragons (which are descendants of the head or an old
Knight order who became a Vampire), and two others who's names my source
could not remember.
There is a system for the blood lines that works similar to
chaos marks. Von Carsteins get leader ship based ones, and the others get
magic, combat and other such abilities.
The Black Coach starts as chariot. However the more kills it
gets the better it gets. It gradually gets better as the kills ramp up and
can apparently get advances like being able to do more damage, cause fear
and even fly!
Vampire armies also get Undead Pegasus called Nightmares.
Ghosts now come on bases like swarms do, and will probably get
new models.
